We began our longest travel day. I was all set: I had saltine crackers, sprite, water, applesauce, and ginger snap cookies. (My stomach still wasn't feeling 100% yet).
We had to take a slight detour to get me a drug test because the job awaiting me in California needed me to take it before I started. Thankfully it didn't take long.
We drove through Saint Louis:
The Rams stadium (pictured above) was where Josh and I went to Urbana in 2009, so we had some fond memories sitting in the arena listening to speakers, comedians, and musicians as they interacted with us about missions!
Then we made it to Kansas! This is a state that neither Josh, nor I had been to!
(Josh wasn't driving when we drove into Kansas so I made him take the picture! He was nervous about it, but I think he did a great job!)
Here are some pictures of the scenery and sunset as we drove through Kansas!
We had been told that Kansas was very flat and we would get bored of the scenery really quickly, but there were actually a lot of rolling hills and it was quite beautiful! (Then we found out that we would be driving through the flat and boring part tomorrow!)
We finally made it to my cousin's house and we got to talk to them and their sweet girls all evening! Josh read the girls a story, and I snuck a picture of him! He will make a great dad someday! :)
Enjoy!
