Charleston, South Carolina

Welcome to Charleston, South Carolina! Below is a map of Charleston. We decided to stay in Mt. Pleasant this weekend for several reasons: first of all there were quite a few hotel options really close together and that enabled us to get a good deal. Secondly we were just a short drive away from downtown Charleston and more centrally located to view both downtown and North Charleston.

Since we were staying in Mt. Pleasant this weekend and Charleston is not actually connected by land to Mt. Pleasant we actually got to drive over this really cool bridge every time we wanted to venture into Charleston! Below is a couple pictures of the bridge :)

The first adventure we took while in Charleston was a trip down to Battery Park or what is also known as White Point Gardens. It is a beautiful park full of trees that borders the edge of Downtown Charleston and the Atlantic Ocean. This park also has quite a bit of historical significance. The following are several pictures taken while we were there.

This is an old beautiful town full of beautiful brick houses, rich with trees and history, and the perfect place for young and old to venture out for an afternoon of fun! The following are several of the pictures we took while touring the town!

The above picture is of the Charleston City Market that stretches down the middle of Market street for 3 blocks and inside contains hundreds of vendors selling everything from homemade items, snacks, souvenirs, and I think you get the picture :) We spent quite a bit of time enjoying the various vendors while we were here!

We also visited Fort Sumter! Fort Sumter is an extremely small island that contains the fort where the Civil War began when the Confederate Army attacked the Union Army.

We had a wonderful time visiting Charleston and I'm sure it will not be the last time that we journey here! We are thoroughly enjoying all of the places we have been visiting and we are looking forward to many more!
