My mom came out to visit!

My mom came out to visit and we had a wonderful time! I decided to take her to all of the different things that I've discovered while out here and we saved our "day trips" for the weekend so that Josh could go! We had such a wonderful and much needed time together! We took several walks on the beach in Sneads Ferry which is where we lived for the first 6 months while we were out here. Here is a couple pictures from the lagoon/swamp right behind the beach that has several small piers to walk out on.

Sneads Ferry is an extremely small city and is basically dead during most of the year. They even have two extremely large souvenir shops that are only open during the summer! So to see the beach this crowded is quite surprising!

Having lived my whole life in Oceanside and getting to ride the bike trail to the beach, this was a welcomed sight! Though it doesn't lead to the beach this bike trail is shaded with trees.

This is my favorite fast food restaurant by far! I seriously love the chicken, the biscuits are amazing, and even the side dishes are awesome. You ask anyone in this area where the best place to eat and they'll say BOJANGLES!!!! (Though I think it's kind of sad that the best place to eat is a fast food restaurant....)

My favorite game is by far Nertz! My mom taught me how to play and always jokes about having created a monster in me! We play at a lot of our family gatherings and Josh and I decided to practice a few weeks before she came out so we would be awesome! We had a wonderful time playing games!

For those of you who don't know...Nertz is basically like playing Solitaire but the Aces (and anything additional) is free game for anyone playing the game to play on. So it is an incredibly fast game!

I found this Berry Farm had advertised Strawberries for quite some time and I kept meaning to go pick some, sadly the strawberry season ended. But suddenly they started advertising Blueberries! So I decided to take my mom blueberry picking and we had a wonderful time! There is just something so incredible about picking berries straight off the bush and eating them!

We picked a lot...we made smoothies and pancakes with them!

This is the "Pepto Bismal" colored house that is featured in the Secret Life of Bees! If you haven't seen the movie, you should definitely rent it. We talked to the Berry Farm owners who were also bee keepers and they told us that they actually trained Queen Latifa and Dakota Fanning for this movie! They also told us where the house was for the movie so we decided to venture out and visit it

We found a local winery and decided to stop by!

This is in Myrtle Beach, it was 100 degrees and there was about 120 degrees of humidity! It was terribly hot, I feel like this picture can even depict the heat....

We fed some fish....

They were either really hungry or really gluttonous!

We decided to get some frozen yogurt since it was so hot outside!

Gas was $2.83 this week!!!!!!!

Downtown Myrtle Beach

There is this awesome shopping center in Myrtle Beach that takes allows you to take pictures with these tigers, I'm not sure what the story is behind why they have these tigers somewhat tamed, but I do know that there is a large wild animal park nearby that I think they keep them at. (P.S. we weren't supposed to be taking pictures of them!)

There are no words to describe the deliciousness of Cracker Barrel!

In Downtown Wilmington there is a Battleship and we went by to take pictures!

Another walk along the beach! :) I love my mom!

Front Street Brewery goodness! :)

This is an old cotton mill that the city of Wilmington turned into a bunch of independent shops. Its a really neat place to go and walk around in, especially when it is extremely hot outside!

I had a FABULOUS time with my mom and I know that Josh did too! We are looking forward to whomever our next visitors might be!!!!!
